Design of rack, pinion and casing assembly for a 200kg electric utility vehicle

With some prior knowledge about steering system design which I acquired from my BAJA Team, I designed a steering system for a 300 kg electric utility vehicle. Wheel assembly and entire suspension subsystem were already fabricated along with steering uprights which had steering arms with Ackerman ratio above 100%. I had to design the steering rack and pinon with a steering ratio of 7:1 keeping the c factor 111mm. Cad images, fabricated assembly and vehicle testing can be seen in the above media.
